
Multiple Afghan and Indian users on social media platform X were sharing a video since November 9, 2025, of a minor girl being beaten up, claiming that the visuals were from a school in Pakistan. However, the clip is from Iraq.
Viral video of school teacher abusing student in Pakistan
The iVerify Pakistan team investigated this content and determined that it is false.
To reach this conclusion, iVerify Pakistan conducted a Google reverse image search and a keyword search to corroborate the video.
Posts from multiple Afghan and Indian accounts on the social media platform X since Nov 9, 2025, shared a video of a minor girl being beaten up, claimed to be from a school in Pakistan. However, the video is not from Pakistan.
On Nov 9, 2025, a user who appeared to be a pro-Afghan account based upon his previous posts, shared a video of a minor girl being beaten up.
The post was captioned as “A video has surfaced from a modern school in Pakistan, in which a teacher is brutally abusing an innocent student, who is wearing a school uniform. The girl screams, apologises in Pashto, but the cruel teacher doesn’t care.”
Subsequently, on Nov 11, 2025, an Afghan propagandist account shared the video with a similar claim on X.
The video was captioned as “A shocking video from a modern school in Pakistan shows a teacher violently mistreating a young girl in uniform. The child cries & apologises in Pashto, but the teacher keeps abusing her. Please be the voice of this innocent child, for her education & her human rights”.
The post gained 800,000 views.
The video was shared by another account on X. The post gained 111,000 views.
Indian media outlet ABP Live also shared the video with a similar claim in their news article.
An Indian propaganda account also shared the video with a similar claim on X. The post gained 64,100 views.
The video with the same claim was also shared by multiple pro-Afghan and pro-Indian accounts on X, as can be seen here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, and here, collectively gaining more than 55,000 views.
A fact-check was initiated to determine the veracity of the claim due to its virality and keen public interest in the matter.
To investigate the viral video, a Google reverse image search was conducted, which yielded a news report published in Arabic by the local Iraqi outlet Al Sumaria on October 30, 2025.
The report’s English-translated headline reads: “A child screams and a person ‘beats’ her… a video circulating online shows ‘cruel’ abuse, prompting calls for security intervention.”
According to the report, the video shows a man brutally abusing a young girl with a water hose. It was shared by Ali Al-Abadi, head of the Human Rights Center, who urged authorities to take immediate action. The incident reportedly occurred in the Presidential District area of Al-Ubaidi, east of Baghdad. While the outlet could not independently verify the clip’s authenticity or exact date, it cited Al-Abadi’s appeal for an official investigation.

Additionally, the video was shared on X by a user identified in his bio as an Iraq-based lawyer and researcher. In his post dated October 30, 2025, he wrote that the National Security Agency had apprehended the father involved in the abuse and handed him over to the relevant authorities, describing the act as “cruelty that sends shivers down the spine.”
