On April 30, 2024, an alleged image of Pakistan’s T20 World Cup 2024 jersey was being shared on X. However, the image is fake since it does not match the design of Matrix Jersey unveiled by the Pakistan Cricket Board.

The iVerify Pakistan team has checked this content and has established that it is false.
To arrive at this verdict, the iVerify Pakistan team investigated the viral image of the jersey and checked it for corroboration with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).
On May 6, 2024, the iVerify Pakistan team was alerted via the public tip-line to authenticate a viral image.
The person providing the tip said that the picture of the Pakistan squad’s alleged jersey for the upcoming International Cricket Council’s Twenty20 World Cup 2024 was initially posted by an X user on April 30.
The caption for the post said, “Pakistan’s jersey for T20 World Cup 2024. Rate it out of 10.”
The image depicted the alleged look of the outfit for the Pakistan squad but the post did not mention if it was an official image released by the PCB or a fan-made mockup.
The image gained over 218,700 views and was also shared with the same caption here with 110,000 views.
The iVerify Pakistan team initiated an investigation into the alleged image of the jersey due to its virality and to satisfy the public’s query for clarification on the matter.
To verify the image, the team checked the PCB website and social media pages to see if they had released the look of the jersey, finding that there was no official unveil as of yet.
However, there was a trailer shared on the PCB’s Facebook and X accounts on May 6 seemingly hinting at the official jersey’s release tonight.
The video shows Pakistan skipper Babar Azam in nondescript clothing walking towards and then reaching out to a floating green glowing shape.
“Stay tuned for the release this evening!” the accompanying caption said.
6:50PM UPDATE: The PCB later officially unveiled the “Matrix Jersey” for the T20 World Cup 2024 in a post on X.
As per Dawn.com, the ninth edition of the T20 World Cup runs from June 1-29. The expanded 20-team tournament is being jointly held by the United States and the West Indies and will get under way on June 1 at the Grand Prairie Cricket Stadium in Dallas, Texas, when the US take on Canada, both teams making their first appearances at a T20 World Cup.
A new venue 30 miles east of downtown Manhattan will host the big clash between India and Pakistan on Sunday, June 9 — one of eight games to be held at the 34,000-seat modular stadium being built in Nassau County.
A total of 16 games will be held in the United States — the first time that a major international cricket tournament is held in the country.
Lauderhill in South Florida, the most established cricket venue in the US, will host games featuring India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka.
The iVerify team has confirmed that the claim about the circulated image of the Pakistan cricket squad’s T20 World Cup jersey as being the final look is false.
The PCB officially released the look of its “Matrix Jersey” and it does not resemble the viral image at all.
